Dr. Danielle Nys, LPC, LMHC brings passion to the Hawaii Counselor’s Association, where she focuses on providing trauma-informed care and mental health services to the residents of Hawaii. Dr. Nys received her PhD from Oregon State University in Human Development and Family Studies, and her Master’s from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Dr. Nys has her own private practice serving adolescents and adults in Hawaii and Oregon, both states in which she is licensed as a LMHC and LPC, respectively.

Dr. Nys utilizes Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in her therapeutic care of individuals, couples, and families, and has experience working in a variety of settings, including residential care, foster care, group practices, and private practice. Residing in beautiful Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, Dr. Nys enjoys spending time with her family, puppies, reading, and enjoying the beauty of living on the island.
